With this in mind, it is likely only a matter of time before other games start going up for pre-order. There are plenty of games that have been confirmed for PS5, including Assassin’s Creed Valhalla, which don’t have pre-order options for PS5 yet. It will be interesting to see just how many games fans will have paid for before the console even releases, but this most recent event will prompt fans to start picking which console they want to buy. This listing also happens two days before the PlayStation 5 Reveal event was postponed, meaning it is possible that the listing was originally meant to go live on that day.
There is speculation about when it will take place now that it has been postponed, with one leaker claiming the PS5 reveal event will happen June 12th. Whether or not this is true is unclear as the leak had nothing to back it up and was posted by an anonymous user on 4chan. Even still, whenever the event does happen fans may see more of Scarlet Nexus as well as other games that may follow suit and become available for pre-order.
Despite all of the setbacks, 2020 has been an exciting year for gaming. Incredible games such as Dragon Ball Z: Kakarot, Final Fantasy 7 Remake, and The Last of Us 2 have flooded the market and now the year will close out with two new next-gen consoles. It seems that developers are focused on developing new IPs for next-generation consoles, so fans should be ready for new ideas.
Scarlet Nexus is the first PS5 game available for pre-order.
