RELATED: Genshin Impact: Best Fischl Build

Fischl makes a great addition to many teams, using her Electro Vision, bow, and connection with Oz to best her enemies. Players who are hoping to ascend Fischl and maximize her potential will need a number of items and quite a bit of Mora. Here’s everything Fischl uses to ascend, as well as what she requires to upgrade her talents.

Leveling Materials

Genshin Impact characters need quite a lot of EXP and Mora to reach their max level of 90. Here’s how much each one, including Fischl, needs between ascension levels.

It’ll take over 8 million EXP for Fischl to reach level 90. This can be done in a number of ways, but this combination of EXP mats will get her there without much waste:

Fischl Ascension Items

As an Electro character, Fischl uses Vajrada Amethyst for all of her ascensions. Additionally, she needs one of Mondstadt’s local plants, the Small Lamp Grass, a boss drop from the Electro Hypostasis known as Lightning Prisms, and some of the Arrowheads dropped by Hilichurls.

Gemstones - Where to Find Vajrada Amethyst

Vajrada Amethyst can be obtained from events, completing daily commissions, and the souvenir shops in Mondstadt and Liyue. However, some bosses (including weekly bosses) also drop Vajrada Amethyst on defeat:

Childe/Tartaglia Stormterror/Dvalin Azhdaha Coral Defenders Thunder Manifestation Electro Hypostasis Primo Geovishap The Shogun

Enemy Drop - Where to Find Hilichurl Arrowheads

Unlike the Hilichurl Masks, Arrowheads are not dropped by just any Hilichurl. These are only dropped by Hilichurl Shooters, specifically. The higher the Hilichurl Shooter’s level, the better the drops can be.

Any level: Firm Arrowhead Level 40 or higher: Sharp Arrowhead Level 60 or higher: Weathered Arrowhead

Boss Drop - How to Get Lightning Prisms

To get her hands on the several Lightning Prisms Fischl needs for ascension, the Electro Hypostasis will need to be defeated several times.

This boss can be found in east Mondstadt, on Cape Oath. It’s immune to Electro, so using Fischl actually isn’t the wisest idea here.

Local Specialty - Where to Find Small Lamp Grass

Fischl is one of only three characters that use Small Lamp Grass to ascend, the other two being Diluc and Amber. She’ll need quite a lot of it, as every character does for their local specialty item.

Small Lamp Grass can only be found in Mondstadt. The best place to find this glowing plant is around the Whispering Woods, though they can spring up around different wooded areas and ruins in the region. From 7pm to 6am, they emit a faint glow, which might make them easier to spot in the wilderness.

Additionally, Flora, the young girl who runs the flower shop in the City of Mondstadt, will sell Small Lamp Grass. She stocks five of them every three days, and they cost 1,000 Mora each.

It can also be grown in the Serenitea Pot once the seeds are acquired.

Fischl Talent Materials

Of course, leveling up Fischl isn’t the only way to improve her combat capabilities. She has three talents that can be upgraded, for the cost of the following materials and Mora:

Talent Books - Ballad

Fischl uses the Ballad series of talent books. There are a few ways to find talent books in Genshin Impact, but the main way is from domains. The Ballad series can be found by clearing the Forsaken Rift domain on Wednesdays, Saturdays, and Sundays.

Trounce Materials and Crowns of Insight

Every Genshin Impact character uses a particular material dropped by a weekly boss to upgrade their talents at the higher levels. Fischl’s is the Spirit Locket of Boreas. This item can be obtained by defeating the weekly Wolf of the North challenge.

A Crown of Insight is needed to level a talent from 9 to 10. With three upgradeable talents, that means three Crowns of Insight per character. Unfortunately, they’re very rare. There are a few that can be earned by making offerings to the Frostbearing Tree on Dragonspine or the Sacred Sakura in Inazuma, but most of them are obtained as limited-time event rewards.

Genshin Impact is available on PC, PS4, PS5, and mobile devices, with a Nintendo Switch version in development.
