Today FNAF AR: Special Delivery’s developer released the game’s announcement trailer, which appears to be a proof of concept video. Special Delivery is an Alternate Reality game made for mobile devices. As in, players will use their device’s camera to tie FNAF monsters into the real world, not unlike how Pokemon GO brings Pokemon into the real world. Exactly how the AR game works remains to be seen.

The trailer shows the player using their phone inside of their bedroom. The camera tilts toward their dark closet, where a pair of glowing eyes can be seen. As the player moves toward the closet, the screen goes black. The next scene shows the player trying to open a door. As they turn around, a mechanical Freddy comes shuffling toward them down the hallway. The player opens the door as the trailer ends.

One final bit of spookiness closes out the trailer as it goes to dark. A voice in the background whispers, “Shh. If you are very quiet, maybe I will not find you.” It’s unclear whose voice this is, though it’s likely to be the antagonist of FNAF AR: Special Delivery. Five Nights at Freddy’s VR: Help Wanted had its own unique antagonist, so this new AR spin-off series seems likely to have its own, too. There’s a chance it could be related to the upcoming FNAF movie, too.

The Five Nights at Freddy’s AR: Special Delivery trailer ends with a “Coming Soon” message. It’s expected to launch later this year across mobile platforms. The game’s website even teases an October date, which will be great for Halloween horror. FNAF fans who are excited to play are supposed to be able to visit the official website and pre-register, but for some reason, there’s no registration on the site at the time being. Expect more information on the game in the weeks to come.
