First released in 2014, Five Nights at Freddy’s gained popularity worldwide as gamers braved animatronic jump scares to survive all five nights. The game has since expanded to nine titles—the latest being 2021’s Five Nights at Freddy’s: Security Breach, multiple spin-offs, and a book series that further explores the lore. Blumhouse is also producing a live-action movie adaptation.

Five Nights at Freddy’s has a roster of interesting and horrifying characters, with variations of Freddy Fazbear at the center. This was why Pillow Pets teamed up with global licensing firm Striker Entertainment to create the Freddy Fazbear Pillow Pet retailing for $34.99. According to the brand’s website, it will be a two-in-one pillow that can turn into a Freddy plushie that gamers of all ages could enjoy. It joins other character pillows from popular franchises, such as Disney and Nickelodeon. As of writing, the Pillow Pet doesn’t have a release date yet, but customers could sign up for the newsletter to get notified once it’s available.

Five Nights at Freddy’s fans seem to be excited about the Freddy Fazbear Pillow Pet. One said they couldn’t wait to buy one for their kids. Some also joked that Freddy might come to life at night. Meanwhile, others were bothered by the Pillow Pet’s color, particularly the ears which are a different shade of brown compared to the rest of its body.

As for the other Five Nights at Freddy’s characters like Chica and Bonnie, they’re not Pillow Pets yet. The brand itself has not announced whether they plan on releasing other Pillow Pets based on the game. However, it’s also likely that Striker Entertainment would tap them for future products if Freddy Fazbear becomes a hit. At the same time, fans could expect more unique Five Nights at Freddy’s merch now that Striker is helping developer Scottgames in ramping up its products program, which would include apparel, costumes, prop replicas, and more.

This renewed hype around Five Nights at Freddy’s also comes after the controversial departure of its creator Scott Cawthon. There are still no news about a new game after Security Breach, but Cawthon said the franchise was not done, and another person would be in charge moving forward. Despite the uncertainty of the franchise’s future, at least fans can have a Freddy Fazbear Pillow Pet by their side.

Five Nights at Freddy’s: Security Breach is available for PC, PS4 and PS5. Xbox One and Xbox Series X/S versions will launch on November 22.
